For the childless couple, fostering the idol became a blessing in disguise, as they considered it their own unborn child. The benevolent Lord Krishna, who manifests himself in the form desired by his devotees, chose to discard Partha Sarathy's whip and instead held a flute in one hand while extending the other to receive the butter of devotion from his "foster parents." A small temple, resembling a "sala" (a traditional Kerala structure), was erected 200 meters south of Kachanappilly Illam, where the idol of "Unnikrishna" (Little Krishna) was enshrined.
